IRPC – How to better understand how to complete it

Modified on Mon, 16 Sep at 3:30 PM

Situation

You have some students at your school who has an IPRC and you need to better understand how to complete, make proper follow ups and ensure that the Ministry will get what is required.

Solution

See some questions that will provide complementary answers to help you with that subject.

1. What field out of Edsembli populates the IPRC/Review Date in ONSIS?

Answer: First, it would look to the Last date, if no date entered, then it will look for the Next if neither of them have dates, then it will look at the Initial IPRC date thisl date should not be changed (in order to keep that real entry date).

2. How to better understand the IPRC fields (initial, next, last, etc) and when should next and last IPRC review dates be entered

Answer:

Initial: First IPRC received

Next:   Next IPRC to happen (should be yearly updated)

Last: As example if parents decided to waive the annual IPRC - this date will reflect the date that the parent waived it.  This will be considered to happen as a meeting.

In that case, if a student does not have a Next and the parents waived it, the date will go automatically to the Last.

Last is meant to be the last most updated information.

3. Should the initial ever get changed if a student is switching schools?

Answer:

Depending on how the Board wants to deal with it, basic rules apply in the way, if the file is not older than one year, if a student is enrolling from this Board to another school, information can be transferred, and the Initial should never be updated.

4. Does that field ever get sent anywhere in ONSIS

Answer:

Yes, the Spec Ed batch file will take that information from Edsembli to be sent to OnSIS

5. Should they ever be changed, and do they get sent to ONSIS at any point?

Answer:

They will be changed when a student receives an IPRC update on the Last and will be included, depending on the timing to OnSIS with the Spec Ed Batch file.
