Configuring Category Codes for Employee Compensation

ISSUE: When modifying an Employee Compensation Record, user is unable to choose a Category Code as the dropdown is empty. The compensation rate is therefore inaccurate.

FIX: No entries under the Category Code dropdown means that there are no Category Codes configured for the Employee Group in question.

User will need to configure Category Code/Salary Grids for this (and all) Employee Group in order to make the appropriate changes.

No entries under the Category Code dropdown means there are no Category Codes available for the Employee Group in question.

In order to create and verify Category Codes; choose Board Control > Compensation > Salary Grids

Choose Salary Grids

Here you want to choose the Employee Group Code in question, and the table below will populate with all records;

Here you can click Status to sort by Current (Active) records that have been configured for this Employee Group.

You can also see the Total Steps under each record, which indicates the number of Grid Steps. Simply choose the record in question to see the Grid Step records populate below;

The information configured under Salary Grids > Employee Group Code will then display when you choose the Category Group dropdown when Modifying Employee Compensation under Staff Management for any Employee that belongs to the Employee Group in question;
