Ontario Reporting - OUAC and OCAS

Modified on Wed, 29 Nov, 2023 at 8:45 AM

Every year based on a specific schedule provided by the Ontario Ministry of Education schools need to provide information to College/University for their students who intend to pursue their education either at College or University level.

What is the difference between OUAC and OCAS?

OUAC - Ontario Universities’ Application Centre

OCAS Ontario College Application Service

Note this procedure is required only for Ontario students or who intend to continue their education in Ontario.

Schools need to follow those steps:

Ontario Reporting > post-secondary > Send info to OUAC/OCAS > click GO

1.  Select the appropriate selection based on the calendar of submission

2.  Select the All Grade 12 and up OR if you have added the OUAC/OCAS numbers in edsembli you can select All students with OUAC/OCAS numbers.

3.  Then export the data with the 2 arrows

Once the file is created you can view the pdf information for the file to ensure all the information is correct before submitting to OUAC/OCAS

You can download the file from the notification bell and then log into OUAC/OCAS and upload your file. Ensure to select the S file. NOTE: For OUAC the end file will be .U1 and for OCAS, the end file will be .C1

IMPORTANT:

1) We recommend to download the file on your desktop

2) If you download the file more than once, a number will show at the end of the file as (1), ensure that number is removed through RENAME you will not be able to upload your file as the Ministry site will not process it with an extension.
