Assign a locker to a student

Situation 1: 

If you want to assign a locker. You’ve looked into your Setup > Lockers > locks and you find an available lock that you want to give with a define locker to a student. 

Student records > Lockers > “+” > select the locker from the locker bank dropdown menu > SAVE 

If the locker already has an existing lock link with it, the lock will show by default, already assigned in your locker bank. 

Situation 2: 

You’ve looked into your Setup > Lockers > locks and you find an available lock that you want to give with a define locker to a student. Based on the information, you take the information and you enter them into the Student records. 

If you want to assign a locker in a specific area and you enter either the serial number or the combination. In the case that it shows you a different serial number and lock and it is not the serial number and lock that you want to give to the student and then you enter the serial number.  If you keep the selection as “Existing lock”, the result will be that: A lock must be selected and the SAVE will be disable. 

If you select “NEW LOCK” and enter the serial number and the combination >SAVE, you may have an error message: “Serial number too similar to another lock at this school and cannot be created” 

The first step it to verify the real location of the serial number or combination 

Setup > Lockers > Lockers > search > type either the serial number or combination 

In the case of when you’ve completed your search, you are able to find the locker number that you want to give to the student but   

Solution 2a : The location and the combination are not what you want: 

Go to Setup > Lockers > Lockers > select the locker number > EDIT > Click on the Trash can > DELETE 

From there you can recreate your locker number 084 with “+” 

Then you can go in the Student records > Lockers and add the locker and the combination as Existing lock > SAVE 

Solution 2b: The combination is good but not the location 

Go to Setup > Lockers > Lockers > select the locker who need a location modification > Edit > select location > SAVE
