ISSUE: Please advise on the best practice to control the size of the audit database for Edsembli Fin.
Ticket | 77498 |
Error | N/A |
Causes | Table grows over time |
Solution | See below |
Solution:
The audit database may be purged at any time at the discretion of the board. This data is solely for board purposes for audit and may be useful should any forensic needs arise. The process runs regularly so a fresh copy of anything deleted will be recreated if needed. The data is broken down by year into tables (see screen shot below) making it convenient to remove all data for an entire calendar year while retaining other years that are still deemed to be needed. Again, the decision of what to delete and how much to keep is up to each individual board and should align to their data retention and records policies.
Please log a ticket with Edsembli FIN if you have any questions, comments or concerns with the above.
