BC Reporting: 1701 File not including Kindergarten Students
The BC Ministry does not accept the grade code K for Kindergarten students.
When uploading the 1701 (.STD) file and see an error displaying for kindergarten students:
“Invalid Grade Code”.
To resolve this issue please follow below steps :
1. Validate that the file name matches the FFI code in the file:
2. Edit the .STD file on Notepad:
Notice the FFI number:
3. Edit the file name to match your FFI. (Please note if the school number starts with "0” than “0” also needs to be included in the Filename as shown below)
4. Next, edit the .STD file in Notepad:
5.Update all Grade codes from K to KF (Kindergarten Full Time):
6. Save the file (Ctrl + S).
7. Upload to the Ministry.
