Multiple Bank Accounts (Split Net Pay) – HRP Feature Overview

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 12:11 PM

Overview

The Multiple Bank Accounts feature was released this summer (2026) and is now available for HRP clients. It allows an employee's net pay to be split across two bank accounts (a primary and a secondary/additional account) at each pay run, instead of the full amount going to a single account.

The split can be configured either as a percentage of net pay or a flat dollar amount directed to the secondary account, with the remainder automatically going to the primary account.

Step 1 – Enable at Site Configuration

  1. Go to Settings → Site Configuration.
  2. Find the Multiple Bank Support? toggle.
  3. Set it to Yes for any client that wants the split-deposit option.

This must be turned on before the option becomes available on any employee record.

Step 2 – Add a Secondary Account on the Employee Record

Once Multiple Bank Support is set to Yes, a + Add Account option appears on:

Payroll → Employee → Basic Employee Data - Multiple Bank Account Support to Yes and Add the employee's secondary bank account and select the split method

For any employee who wants a second (split) deposit, click + Add Account in the Additional Bank Accounts grid and enter the secondary account's Financial Institution, Transit Number and Account Number.

Split Options

On the secondary account line, choose one Disbursement method:

Method

How it works

% of Net Pay

A percentage of the pay run's net pay goes to the secondary account

$ Amount

A fixed dollar amount goes to the secondary account each pay

The primary account is automatically flagged Remainder and receives whatever is left after the secondary split, so the two accounts always add up to full net pay.
