Create Statutory Deductions Error

Issue: error of violation of primary key constraint PK_EC_EMPLOYEE_STAT_DEDUCTION is being generated


When executing the steps below, the error of violation of primary constraint PK_EC_EMPLOYEE_STAT_DEDUCTIONS is generated:


1. Payroll\Year End\Create Statutory Deductions
2. Select December 31st of this year
3. Hit TAB (information will auto populate)
4. Submit


PAYROLL > YEAR END > CREATE STATUTORY DEDUCTIONS


Error similar to the one bellow happens:


PROCESS > COMPLETED > CREATE STATUTORY DEDUCTIONS


**Note the EID is included in the Error**

Additional Note: The error will only display one Employee ID at once. If you run again and receive the error again, review the message as it will be for another Employee ID. 


RESOLUTION:

The issue is relating to having two records with open end dates. 


Go to Payroll\Employee\Statutory Deductions, search for employee whose number is being shown in the error message and add an end date of 1st of January of the current year, for example 2023-01-01, and run the process again.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Verify Tax Credit Exemptions

  • 2024/05/14 record has incorrect Tax Credit Exemptions for Federal/Provincial

Verify Original Start Date & Position Start

  • If Employee is NOT new to the board this year
    1. YYYY/01/01 record should remain
  • If Employee is newly Hired/Working
    1. Stat Deduction record will start at their Hire/Position Start Date
